Ramaphosa announces his new Cabinet, De Lille makes the team
President Cyril Ramaphosa has announced his Cabinet, reducing the number of ministries from 36 to 28.
The departments which have been combined include - Trade and Industry with Economic Development, Higher Education and Training with Science and Technology, Environmental Affairs with Forestry and Fisheries, Agriculture with Land Reform and Rural Development, Mineral Resources with Energy, Sports and Recreation with Arts and Culture.
He says other responsibilities have been added to other departments such as Labour, which will now include employment, to focus on the creation of jobs.
Leader of the GOOD political party Patricia De Lille is among the executive and has been appointed Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure.

I will be signing performance agreements with each and every one of the ministers and deputy ministers which will be evaluated regularly against clearly stated targets and performance outcomes. Where implementation is unsatisfactory, action will be taken.President Cyril Ramaphosa
Ramaphosa says for the first time, women make up 50% of the ministries.
Half of all the ministers are women. We have also included a significant number of young people. This is in fulfilment of our commitment to giving young people roles of responsibility in all sectors of society.President Cyril Ramaphosa
