How Transnet manufacturing facility costs hiked from R9m to over R100m
The Zondo Commission into state capture continued on Thursday with the testimony of Thobani Mnyandu of MNS Attorneys.
EWN reporter Barry Bateman says MNS Attorneys was hired to look into allegations of irregularities related to tenders at Transnet.
The testimony focused on the relocation of a train-manufacturing facility from Johannesburg to Durban. The commission heard how the costs were hiked from R9m to more than R100m in just a year.
When they started in 2014, the initial additional costs was about R9m to move the facility to Durban. But within a year it was up to R100m.Barry Bateman, Senior reporter - EWN
