A five-month-old baby is believed to be trapped in one of the houses demolished in Alexandra.
Fresh unrests erupted in the area on Friday morning when the Red Ants destroyed about 100 illegal structures near the Jukskei river.
It’s still unclear whether the child is alive.
Eyewitness News reporter Robinson Nqola says the demolition of homes follows an eviction order which the Red Ants say they received and was issued to the community members, but residents say they were never given notice.
