RCL Foods' Scott Pitman says government ordered products be removed from supermarkets despite not testing positive for listeria.

The Simply Chicken range of Vienna sausages, which were taken off the shelves in the aftermath of last year's listeria outbreak, is now back on the market.

RCL Foods managing director for the consumer division, Scott Pitman says the company was thrown under the bus by the government because none of its products ever tested positive for listeriosis.

Scott Pitman, Managing director for the consumer division - RCL Foods

We have never and don't think we will ever test positive for any listeria.
