Director of communications Makhosonke Buthelezi says 72% of the issues have been resolved.

The Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) website has been upgraded, but it is full of glitches.

Since the beginning of February, customers have been encountering challenges to claim for funds or to even register on the system.

Pippa Hudson spoke to UIF director of communication and marketing Makhosonke Buthelezi about when will they fix the glitches.

Buthelezi says the fund has redeployed a number of its staff to assist people in navigating the new system.

We believe the system is good, and it will work to the benefit of the clients and the UIF. It is highly regrettable that we have to go through this rough patch.

Makhosonke Buthelezi, Director of communication and marketing - UIF

Seventy-two percent of the issues are resolved. It is not as bad as it was like when the problem started.

Makhosonke Buthelezi, Director of communication and marketing - UIF

We are not sitting on our hands and doing nothing. We do acknowledge that users will still encounter some problems and we are serious about trying to resolve it.

Makhosonke Buthelezi, Director of communication and marketing - UIF
