City of Cape Town plans in place to deal with heavy rains and flooding

Heavy rains on Tuesday have left parts of Cape Town flooded and many roads inaccessible.

Cape Town's Disaster Risk Management Center head of public awareness Charlotte Powell says the flooding has affected mostly people living in informal settlements but no evacuation notice was issued.

She says the flooding and storm staff team is on standby to deal with any reports of flooding across the city throughout the winter period.

Which other plans are in place to deal with flooding in the city?
