Aubrey Masango spoke to Congress of South African Trade Unions (Cosatu) parliamentary co-ordinator Matthew Parks to find out what the organisation expects to hear from the president.

We had a very progressive job summit hosted by the president last year, positive agreements yet we have seen after that business has been retrenching more workers and even parastatals have wanted to join the queue of throwing workers into unemployment.

Our number one hope is for a clear plan by government - clear time frames, targets, objectives to create jobs.
