Baby Cart scam: What really transpired?

Over the last few days our sister station 702 in Johannesburg has been speaking about a possible scam involving a baby supplies online shop, with numerous mothers left without their orders.

CapeTalk was unable to make contact with Britney de Lange owner of Baby Cart, but Henriette (intervenor) explains to CapeTalk’s John Maytham on what really transpired.

Baby Cart ran a promotion for nappies at a much reduced price. I only picked up the saga when they created a Facebook page for the concerned mothers not receiving the orders that they’ve paid for. I managed to track down Britney where she is currently residing and I made telephonic contact with her. She didn’t want to speak to me because I was not one of the mothers. I offered to distribute the nappies from my house due to certain threads that the family has received …

Henriette further said the agreement to collect the nappies yesterday morning at 9 am was not met because Britney’s husband has taken the matter to his own hands.

The mothers who have made orders on Baby Cart are advised to open a fraud case at their nearest police stations.
