The former minister has responded to criticism following his nomination as the transport portfolio committee chair in Parliament.

Former mineral resources minister Mosebenzi Zwane has responded to criticism surrounding his nomination as chair of the transport portfolio committee in Parliament, saying media have been unfair in their questioning of those who made the list.

On Wednesday, the African National Congress (ANC) announced the names of members it wants to be committee chairs in Parliament.

The former minister insists he and other nominees accused of state capture were cleared by the ANC integrity commission.

Speaking to Eyewitness News reporter Clement Manyathela ahead of the State of the Nation Address, Zwane said they should be allowed to do their jobs.

If you are fair, why did you not ask that question when others were appointed ministers and those people were also taken to the integrity commission?
