Man missing for 6 years found
His family believed he had died and performed a memorial service for him but now they are struggling to get him back home.

A Delft mother who believed that her son died six years ago found out that he is actually alive but in another country.

Jane Daniels held a memorial service for her son Denzil Daniels after he disappeared without a trace only to be recently found alive in eSwatini formerly known as Swaziland.

EWN reporter Lauren Isaacs says last week, eSwatini police contacted police in Delft informing them Daniels had been found scratching bins outside a supermarket.

They said he was very confused but he was able to give us his mother's address.

Jane Daniels says she was happy to hear that her son was still alive although she thought he had died six years ago.

I prayed every morning and evening for God to help me find him if he is still alive.

Jane Daniels, Mother

Since hearing the news she is been trying to find help to get her son back to South Africa but no one is willing to help her.

According to Isaacs, two Delft police officers have now, in their personal capacity, taken it upon themselves to fetch him at the border between South Africa and eSwatini.

They are appealing to the public for financial assistance.
