Are you getting your money’s worth? Bruce Whitfield interviews Wayne Duvenage of the Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (Outa).

We’re up there with the New Zealands and the Denmarks of the world… It’s bad when you’re not getting a return…

Wayne Duvenage, Chairperson - Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse

I would love to see a collaboration between Edward Kieswetter, Shamila Batohi and the Presidency to start locking up some crooks. Just get them on tax! If it takes too long to prove fraud and corruption; do what the Americans did with Al Capone…

Bruce Whitfield, The Money Show

South Africa is amongst the 10 most heavily taxed countries in the world (tax-to-GDP ratio), according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Personal taxes have increased by 125% over the past decade.

The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviewed Wayne Duvenage, Chairperson at Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse (Outa).

Duvenage says taxpayers are paying more but getting less in return.

He believes Government has gone too far in tapping the individual tax-paying base in South Africa.

Listen to the interview in the audio below (and scroll down for more quotes from it).

They’ve pushed that personal tax envelope too far!

Wayne Duvenage, Chairperson - Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse

There is sufficient money… it all comes down to governance… instead, we have cronyism, maladministration, corruption… if we can fix that we’ll have the best country in the world…

Wayne Duvenage, Chairperson - Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse

Your taxes have been abused with gay abandon for far too long… It’s criminal! …

Bruce Whitfield, The Money Show
