Eyewitness News reporter Nthakoana Ngatane says the SADC envoy will try and get key stakeholders to agree on a way forward.

President Cyril Ramaphosa will join a team to Lesotho led by envoy and retired deputy chief justice Dikgang Moseneke on Thursday.

The Mountain Kingdom is grappling with a split in Prime Minister Tom Thabane's party.

The president has been the Southern African Development Community's (SADC's) facilitator for Lesotho since 2015. During this time, two coalition governments collapsed, resulting in three elections within five years.

Eyewitness News reporter Nthakoana Ngatane explains:

Lesotho is supposed to be going through reforms that are supposed to bring long-term stability. They are supposed to take power from the prime minister and put it in parliament.
