It's common practice across the world that when dining out at a restaurant patrons tip waiting staff.
But a listener to John Maytham's show on CapeTalk has revealed the manager of a restaurant in McGregor refused to allow him to leave a gratuity for the server, stating "we pay them well enough".
Jeff Rosenberg, chairperson of Fedhasa Cape, the umbrella body for the hospitality industry, says he's never heard anything like it.
