Leaked report shows tender irregularities, fraud at Lesedi municipality
A yet unpublished report, seen by 702, has revealed a leaking of allegations over tender irregularities, fraud and irregular appointment of senior managers at the troubled Lesedi Local Municipality in the Sedibeng district.
The leaked document has revealed how one of the senior managers was irregularly appointed.
Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane is yet to finalise her report. The accounting officer is yet to comment before the report is made public.
The community has been calling for mayor Lerato Maloka to be fired following failed service delivery in the area.
The leaked report shows that the Public Protector has revealed how the law was not followed when the municipality awarded two tenders amounting to just below R500,000.

According to the report, the manager of special programmes, Melekola Melato [also known as maDlamini], applied for that position with fake qualifications. She is getting a salary of R449,000 per annum with benefits.Edwin Ntshidi, Reporter - Eyewitness News
