Olifantsfontein chemical gas explosion leaves 50 people injured

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring says that the cause of the blast is unknown.

At least 50 people are being treated at various hospitals for injuries sustained in a chemical gas explosion at a building in Olifantsfontein.

Paramedics said that when they arrived on the scene, the structure had been evacuated.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring says that the cause of the blast is unknown.

Initial assessment of all the patients showed that 50 people had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

Unfortunately we don't know what was the cause of the explosion, we know it was an unknown chemical gas that exploded.
