US singer R Kelly arrested on sex trafficking charges

US singer R Kelly has been arrested on federal sex trafficking charges.

The 52-year-old was apparently walking his dog in Chicago when he was approached and handcuffed by Homeland Security agents and the NYPD Public Safety Task Force.

He's already pleaded not guilty to more than 20 sexual offences.

It's the third time in less than five months that Grammy-award winner Kelly has been arrested.

In February he was charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse, then in May prosecutors in his home state ofy, Illinois, charged him with 11 additional sex counts.

Back in February Cape Talk's Sara-Jayne King sat down with singer Sparkle who featured in the R Kelly documentary series exposing allegations of sexual abuse.

After the 6-part series 'Surviving R Kelly' was released, containing allegations of sexual abuse by numerous women, he was charged but was later released on bail.
