New app helps calculate child maintenance
App designer Barry Greyvenstein has created an app that will make sure a parent meets his or her obligations to maintain their children by calculating what should be allocated.
The app, called Mediation Academy, is created to solve South Africa's child maintenance problem.
The calculator involves zero maths, allowing a third-party to effectively mediate maintenance between parents.
Let's say for instance you are earning R 10,000 and your ex earns R 20,000, we need a way to figure out how much are the kids costing and then the parent who is earning double what the other parent earns needs to actually contribute two-thirds of the total expenses.Barry Greyvenstein, App designer
The app is available for free on our website. At the same time I would really recommend speaking to somebody who has had some training in law.Barry Greyvenstein, App designer
