After a week of waiting since Police Minister Bheki Cele's announcement last week that SADF boots would hit the ground withing hours, the troops finally rolled into the Cape Flats areas of Manenberg and Hanover Park on Thursday afternoon.
Residents came out onto the streets to watch and many seemed to welcome the army's presence in its support role to the South African Police Service (Saps).
