State capture commission hears how Estina didn't meet tender requirements
The state capture commission on Monday heard how the Gupta-linked company Estina did not meet the requirements to be part of the dairy farm project.
Free State legislature member Roy Jankielsohn told the commission how he was involved in the oversight of several government initiatives including the controversial project.
Eyewitness News reporter Bonga Dlulane says Jankielsohn also told the commission how the minority parties were threatened when they asked questions related to the project.
They received over R200m according to Roy Jankielsohn, who is a member of the Free State legislature who said none of the farmers saw any of that money. It went to the politically connected, the corrupt contract between Estina which we now know is related to the Guptas.Bonga Dlulane, Reporter - Eyewitness News
Jankielsohn says he doesn't even know why they (Estina) got into dairy or how they got that contract, but Ace Magashule was the premier then and Mosebenzi Zwane was the MEC for agriculture then.Bonga Dlulane, Reporter - Eyewitness News
They raised these concerns when it started because they wanted to see the farm and nothing was happening. They asked where the money was going to and no one wanted to account and because the ANC had the majority in the legislature, they could hide behind that.Bonga Dlulane, Reporter - Eyewitness News
