'Absa didn't donate to the CR17 political campaign, or any political campaign'
Absa Group Limited communication and corporate relations head Songezo Zibi says the bank didn't donate to the CR17 political campaign or any other political campaign.
Zibi is responding to claims made by Sunday Independent which listed Absa Nation Building as having given over R10m to the campaign in the lead up to the African National Congress's conference held in Nasrec.
Bongani Bingwa chats Zibi on the alleged funding.
We do not have such a subsidiary (Absa National Building) associated with Absa and we have never heard of it before. The is no entity by that name, what was explained to me is that the name was a reference on some of the donations into the FNB account.Songezo Zibi, Communication and corporate relations - Absa Group Limited
