A Cape Town restaurant, Massimo's, has been voted the best pizzeria in Africa at the 50 Top Pizza Awards, handed out in the home of pizza, Naples.

Orione says the award is a recognition of what they have done for the past 10 years.

It took us a long time to get to where we are. It was hard, especially the first couple of winters.

It is the whole package. It is not just the pizzas, it is also other dishes that we do, the whole service and the atmosphere that we create.

Orione says he was working in IT until 2000 when he and his wife decided to get into restauranteering.

They opened the Hout Bay restaurant in 2008.

We slowly grew. Now we have more than 20 staff, we can sit... about 130 people.
