Independent Media digital sports editor Ashfak Mohamed says youngsters must be given a chance at Rugby World Cup.

The Springboks have dropped a spot to fifth in the World Rugby rankings despite their 46-13 win over Argentina which clinched the Rugby Championship.

England moved to fourth after their victory over Wales at Twickenham. Ireland are in third place behind Wales, while New Zealand are still at the top.

In 2015 and 2011 the teams that won the Rugby Championship did not go on to win the Rugby World Cup.

John Maytham speaks to at Independent Media digital sports editor Ashfak Mohamed about positivity around the Springboks.

It certainly doesn't feel like we are the fifth-best team in the world, especially considering the results of the last few weeks. And also winning a title, any trophy is always welcome. Definitely, there is that air of positivity in South African rugby at the moment.

Ashfak Mohamed, Digital sports editor - Independent Media

I would say that Wales are the real danger team from the northern hemisphere, but certainly the All Blacks and the Wallabies, especially with their results at the weekend, are the teams to watch.

If Herschel Jantjies is a better option, he must play. Same with Bongi Mbonambi, he has been consistent.
