Tourism Business Council working with ministry to tackle tourist safety

Tourism Business Council of South Africa has collaborated with the tourism ministry to try and improve the number of tourists coming into the country, as well as tackling issues of safety.

CEO at the business council Tshifhiwa Tshivhengwa says they have raised their concerns with Tourism Minister Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane around the levels of crime across the country.

We will be meeting with the portfolio committee on tourism and police, together with the police commissioners to really sit down and say how do we deal with this issue.

We need to find a lasting solution to ensure that we instil confidence to our trade partners overseas and the media overseas.

We will embarking now on a trip overseas, to really engage with the trade because they have raised these concerns to say if we don't deal with this, this will damage the brand overtime.
