4 popular reasons why more South Africans want to emigrate to Australia

Enquiries from South Africans wanting to permanently move to Australia have been seven times higher over the last year.

This, according to Australian migration agent Marlene Prentice who says she has received enquiries from South Africans in varied professions.

I have experienced a seven fold increase of enquiries from South Africa. Other agents have also seen a notable rise.

Four most popular reasons for South Africans wanting to emigrate:

According to Prentice, these are the most common issues that have motivated the South African enquires:

1. Load shedding and its effects on everyday life.

2. The country's high crime rate.

3. Corrupt government administration.

4. A 'better future' for their children; improved education and employment prospects.

Prentice says that most of her potential clients emanate from Johannesburg, Pretoria and KwaZulu-Natal.

Prentice is a part of a closed Facebook group called South Africans Migrating to Australia. There are 8 registered migration agents in the forum.
