It is reported that there are divisions between City of Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille and some officials within the City and ratepayers regarding the proposed Clifton development project.
It is alleged that the divisions are caused by the possibility of Clifton’s public coastline ending up in the hands of private developers, and Mayor de Lille’s personal relationship with these developers, namely Toby Mynhardt and businessman Mark Willcox.
