Refilwe recently spoke to Ntuli and Steenhusien about their campaigns and chances of winning. Now she speaks to the third contender in the race John Moodey after his campaign launch on Monday at the University of Johannesburg.

What I have to offer is almost 46 years of leadership development, my own personal development. I lived in the apartheid regime for 36 years of my life, so I have experienced what apartheid has done to us as South Africans.

John Moodey, Gauteng leader - Democratic Alliance

He describes how he fought the system during apartheid, involved in the trade union and civic movements.

He later served in the City of Johannesburg administration for 20 years.

I fought for a new South Africa.
