Cathy Mhlongo started a small business earlier this year doing personalised work using an embroidery machine but her work has been affected by post office delays.
Mhlongo says needs to get her orders delivered to cities all over the country and they’re simply not getting to their destination.
She says she has experienced poor customer service and the post office staff has not been helpful with locating her parcels.
Its affecting our business in a negative way. My frustration is not about the money, its about the products...They' tell me that it is in transit, but they cant say anything further than that.— Cathy Mhlongo, small business owner
Martie Gilchrist, Western Cape Regional Communications Manager for the SA Post Office says that the matter seems isolated.
We are working on tracking the parcel. It should have been delivered ages ago. It is an anomaly at this stage.— Martie Gilchrist, WC Communications Manager for the SA Post Office
According to Gilchrist the post office is trying to erase the backlog after the lengthy industrial action.
