Disaster waiting to happen - Grand West Arena

The production of Disney on Ice was showing at the Grandwest Casino over the weekend. We received several calls from concerned parents over crowd management at GrandWest. Exits seem to be rather limited for the amount of people that filled the venue, leading to possible dangerous crowding, especially with children involved.

We spoke to Elouise Matthys, PR and Promotions Manager: GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World:

The safety of our guest is of outmost importance. With this particular performance, especially with the kids being there, we were not able to use our normal exits facilities (main entrance) because the kids are not allowed on the gaming floor. We acknowledge that it was very crowded and fortunately there were no incidents or accidents…
