Rolie Nikiwe: It's tough to make films in SA

The Durban international Film Festival starts today and is which sparking a conversation about the kind of films that we are producing.

There seems to be a focus on our past in our story telling - our past is a story that needs to be told – but our films are moving away from that.

Rolie Nikiwe, who directs popular eTV drama, Matatiele spoke to Stephen about whether the South African film industry is making money.

It’s not that there isn’t any local content – it’s just that some content resonates with South Africans more than some of the stuff we make as SA film industry
