Rose Scented Melkkos
(recipe serves 4)
- 1 cup sifted flour
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 3 tbls butter
- 4 ½ cups milk
- 3 tbls sugar or sugar to taste
- ¼ tsp ground cardamom
- ¼ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¾ tsp rose water
Rub the flour, salt and butter together.
Place the milk into a saucepan with the sugar, cardamom and cinnamon, bring the milk to the boil and then gradually stir in the flour mixture, bring the heat down to a simmer and then cook stirring until the mixture is thickened and cooked through, stir in the rose water and spoon into bowls.
Drizzle honey over the top of your melkkos or sprinkle with toasted almonds or pistachio nuts to sexy it up.
