Premier Helen Zille and CT Mayor Patricia De Lille came together to develop a Youth Lifestyle Centre in Manenberg on Wednesday which may set the scene for a groundbreaking urban renewal project in one of the world’s most drug-infested areas.
Part of a programme known as The Violence Prevention through Urban Upgrading (VPUU) project, it also just happens to be the first municipal building in the country to receive a Green Star SA rating from the Green Building Council of South Africa.
