GP police commissioner addresses rogue cops

Gauteng Police Commissioner Lesetja Mothiba addressed rogue cops, the relationship the police has with the community and crime.

A briefing was held on Thursda by the Gauteng Police Commissioner in Johannesburg.

"The conduct of these members [rogue officer] taint the image of the Saps,” Mothiba said.

He insisted that Gauteng province officer have a strong relationship with communities.

Earlier, on the Mid-Day Report, Mothiba spoke about taxi violence, corruption and cctv cameras.

On the incidents of taxi violence in the last few months, Mothiba says police will start arresting people who are involved in taxi violence and issue them with fines and are appealing to community assist police.

On the situation regarding cctv cameras in police stations and in police cell, Mothiba says they want to deal with police brutality. to deal with rogue cops they will install cctv cameras in police stations and police cells so that they have evidence to prosecute.
