Stats SA: SA is moving, growing and getting older.

Statistician General Pali Lehotla has announced that he believes there are currently 54.96 million people living in South Africa and that the population of Gauteng specifically, has grown significantly in the last few years.

The figures seem to show that South Africa's population is moving, growing and getting older.

Stephen Grootes speaks to Barry Bateman about the factors driving this movement in the population.
