Inspiration Wednesday: Re-think the Shark

This week’s inspiration is an activist, a photographer, a conservationist and filmmaker, but most strikingly, a shark warrior.

A growing concern for the ocean environment pressed Lesley Rochat to start AfriOceans Conservation Alliance in 2003 and registered it as non-profit organisation.

The AfriOceans Conservation Alliance focuses on marine conservation, particularly shark conservation. It encourages government and corporate policies and practices that provide meaningful marine conservation.

Lesly has dedicated her life in helping and protecting sharks leaving her career as TV presenter, model and financial advisor.

Rochat stands against the use of words like “shark attack”

When we label them as blood thirsty killer machine, it demonises them and makes them these outcast in nature that people believe they shouldn’t live

Lesley Rochat, CEO AfriOceans Conservation Alliance
