A podiatrist is a foot doctor. Podiatry is a branch of medicine devoted to the study of diagnosis, medical and surgical treatment of disorders of the foot, ankle, and lower limb.

This week on health and wellness we focus on the feet and conditions affecting them.

CapeTalk presenter Pippa Hudson speaks to Podiatrist, Andrew Clarke as well as his colleague Brandon Maggen, Vice Chair of the Podiatry Association of South Africa.

According to Clark, the profession is not known to many in the country because there’s only one university in South Africa that produces podiatrists and is based in Johannesburg.
