Learning to Fly performed by 1 000 musicians

A resident of Cesena, south of Venice in Italy is a big Foo Fighters fan, but the town was not on the concert schedule.

For the last year he has been inviting musicians all over Italy come together and practice the track Learning to Fly.

Yesterday those 1 000 musicians posted the result of their efforts with a plea to the Foo Fighters to perform in their town.

In a little over 24 hours the video had over 3,5 million views and more importantly, David Grohl posted on the Foo Fighters twitter account to say - Ci vediamo a presto, Cesena – See you soon.

La Bamba Google style

Google has created a demonstration using your camera phone for translations.

The function has been available for a while although it is likely few people know about it.

They translate the song La Bamba in real time using cards of the lyrics translated with the music. If you ever wondered what “Para bailar La Bamba” the first line of the song means, Google helpfully says it is “To dance the Bamba”

John the Smith not Maytham

John Maytham has been wondering #WhatWouldItBeLikeTo make his own jewellery and found a willing jeweller to let him play with molten silver.

With practice John might actually be quite good, but the best thing we could say about his first attempt is that is it silver.
