The City approves recommendations to lease Greenmarket Square

The City of Cape Town has approved recommendations to start a process that will eventually lead to the leasing out of Greenmarket Square for a period of five years.

Garreth Bloor, the City of Cape Town’s Mayco Member for Tourism, Events and Economic Development says that this process is necessary as it will help to revitalise spaces such as the Greenmarket Square and St George’s Mall, and to ensure that they remain inclusive meeting spaces for Capetonians.
