Malema confident he will win his trial

Economic freedom front (EFF) leader Julius Malema’s trial has been postponed until tomorrow, this due to the hospitalization of one of the accused (Kagiso Dichaba). The state said all three accused must be present.

Stephen Grootes spoke to EWN reporter Gia Nicolaides, who reports that earlier EFF supporters greeted Malema with songs and vowed to rally behind him. The case relates to misrepresentation to the Limpopo roads and transport department in order to get a R52 million tender.

Malema's legal team says they want to begin as soon as possible and if the state fights for a postponement, then they will apply for a separation of trials.

A decision on the matter will be made tomorrow in court when proceedings resume.
