Plans to improve Manenburg are met by criticism from the community memebers

Manenberg Steering Committee on Monday, met with Western Cape Premier Helen Zille and City of Cape Town Mayor Patricia de Lille to discuss development plans for Manenberg.

This follows after the provincial government and the City declared a detailed plan to develop and invest in Manenberg over a week ago. However, various organisations in the area spoke out about not being consulted of these plans beforehand.

To hear about outcomes of the meeting, Capetalk’s John Maytham spoke to Jonathan Jansen, Manenberg Steering Committee spokesperson:

According to Jansen, people who are saying they were not consulted did not avail themselves for the meeting when they were invited.
