Sexwale has been active in sports as an advisor for Fifa’s anti-racism and anti-discrimination task force. He also founded a venture called Global Watch, which aims at tackling racism and discrimination in all sports.

Mseleku further said that efforts to get Sexwale's comments proved to be fruitless.
