Fabulous life: A must see production - West Side Story

West Side Story is now playing on the Artscape Opera House stage. The multiple award-winning musical based on a conception of Jerome Robbins with book by Arthur Laurents will play at the Artscape until 23 August 2015 when the production must close.

CapeTalk’s Pippa Hudson got the opportunity to get up close with the cast of West Side Story to talk about what went into the production of West side story. According to the show’s Director Matthew Wild they would have loved to have the show play a bit longer but unfortunately there are other shows on the line up immediately after.

The stage is said to be designed in an extraordinary manner, unfortunately, the original set designer didn’t live to see the play. It was designed in part by Johan Engels, who died in November 2014.

Pippa Hudson also spoke to Jonathan Roxmouth who plays Tony, and Bianca le Grange who plays Anita.
