This week on improve your life, Pippa Hudson tackles the hustles of building your own house and also give a few guidelines on how to go about it in a less stressful way.

Les Abbott is the author of "So you want to build a house? A simple step by step guide through the process, from concept to completion". He runs his own architectural business LA Design Studio, in Hermanus. Abbott has over 40 years’ experience in the building industry, and has a particular interest in alternative and eco-friendly building methods.

Abbot has more than 460 building projects under his belt.
