CapeTalk surprises young Nonceba Centre survivor with a night to remember

Thandile had been looking forward to her matric ball for months. But her excitement started waning when she realised how much its costs.

She was further discouraged by the possibility that it would be cancelled due to lack of funding at her Khayelitsha school.

But the young sexual abuse survivor can still get her fairy tale ending thanks to the efforts of CapeTalk staff, listeners and clients.

Pippa Hudson received an overwhelming response to the call to help give Thandile her 'Cinderella moment' and she has warmed our hearts in return.

Before hearing about our secret plans, Thandile shared a moving poem that she wrote about her matric dance.

THE DRESS: Thandile will be dressed up in the gorgeous dress designed by Shift Shop.

THE SHOES: She will be wearing a sparkly pair of Cinderella shoes which London Shoes have donated . They offered her another 2 pairs from their collection.

THE CARRIAGE: Jaguar Land Rover Stellenbosch will pick her and a friend up and drive them to the V&A Waterfront Suites, where The Glam Bar will do her nails.

THE GLAM: MACCosmetics have sponsored her makeup. Lifestyle Emporium will style her hair for the evening, and Trendstudio.co.za have donated accessories to complete your outfit.

THE PHOTOS: Once she is all dressed up, she will have a photo-shoot to capture the memories from her special night, thanks to photographer Peter Herring who has offered to help.

THE DINNER: After that Land Rover is going to chauffeur her both to the Cullinan Hotel, for a very special candle-lit dinner. She will be chauffeured home at the end of the evening.

AND MORE: After her special day, Henriette from the V&A Waterfront has given her 3 tickets for the Wheel of Excellence another day of her choice to take 2 friends along to all enjoy the beautiful views across Cape Town.
