Second World War was a global war that lasted from 1939 to 1945. It officially ended on the 14th August 1945.
Eddy Wilkinson was nine years old, living in the Civilian Concentration Camp, North West of Shanghai when World War II came to end.
Talking to CapeTalk’s John Maytham, Wilkinson relives the heart breaking moments in the Japanese Concentration Camp.

I remember digging out meat that was buried because it was off and my folks caught me— Eddy Wilkinson
In the email sent to John Maytham Wilkinson wrote:
"I can still remember most vividly, when quite a few days later, an American convoy arrived with food and supplies. The Officer in the leading Jeep, to me looked very imposing and large. Needless to say, it took us a few weeks to get used to the food we were supplied with".
