On this week’s New Beginnings Pippa Hudson speaks to Omar Soubra, the man who has helped bring the Maker Faire to Cape Town for the very first time as part of the Open Design Festival.
Maker Faire is a family-friendly festival of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. The festival showcases makers who are exploring new forms and new technologies.
Maker Faire welcomes people of all-ages and gathers tech enthusiasts, crafters, educators, tinkerers, hobbyists, engineers, science clubs, authors, artists, students, and those who have no idea they are makers.
Soubra says that the festival is a great platform for entrepreneurs to showcase their creativity and innovation also sharing of ideas, peer-to-peer.
The festival takes place on 20-23 August at The Lookout, V&A Waterfront.
