Western Cape Transport MEC Donald Grant will arrive in George today and meet with the town's municipality.
This comes after several buses were set alight in a protest against the town’s Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) system on Wednesday.
Some residents and taxi associations have met the municipality’s roll-out of the Go George buses with resistance, claiming that they were not properly consulted.
Myron Rabinowitz, reporter for the George Herald says the protest action took place on the N2 near Thembalethu township.
There are aggrieved parties who felt they weren't consulted enough. It was sparked off by a Go George bus which was in Thembalethu to test the routes.— Myron Rabinowitz, George Herald reporter
