Chest pain is simply any pain or discomfort felt anywhere in the chest. We are often told not to take chest pains lightly because they can be an important warning of a heart attack.
However, according to Dr Green, there are many possible causes of chest that are not related to heart diseases. He says if you have unexplained chest pain then you should seek immediate medical attention.
When to be worried about chest pains?
Dr Green says you need to know about your genes and family history. Find out if someone in your family has had heart diseases at a young age (under 50 years). According to Dr Green, knowing your family health history will relieve the panic when experiencing chest pains.

- Cardiovascular problems
- Lung problems
- Gastro-intestinal problems
- Bone, Muscle, or Nerve Problems
- Anxiety and panic attacks
