Will racism doccie speed up transformation at University of Stellenbosch?

A documentary called Luister, which features student accounts of alleged racism at Stellenbosch University, has caused a stir on social media.

The video has gained over 111 000 views on YouTube and political parties have voiced their concerns over the conditions of students at the university as a result.

Parliament now wants to have an urgent meeting with the institution's management, which the university has said they are willing to do.

Stephen Grootes spoke to Acting Vice Rector, Nico Koopman about the incidents of racism shown in the documentary, as well as the transformation plan at the university.

We are a country that still struggles with various forms of racism, whether covert or overt. This is one of the struggles for University of Stellenbosch, especially covert racism.
