ANC responds to EFF 'attack'

Yesterday on the Midday Report, Stephen spoke to EFF President, Julius Malema, after violent clashes on Wednesday between supporters of the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and the South African Students Congress (SASCO), which is aligned with the ANC, at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) Soshanguve campus.

Stephen today speaks to Zizi Kodwa, The National Spokesperson for the African National Congress, who states that the ANC condemns the disruption and violence that was exhibited by EFF.

South Africa must be worried when a leader of a political organisation confirms that he is going to use violence because he does not trust organs of the state, including police. We must be worried because political intolerance in South Africa has a history.

Zizi Kodwa, National Spokesperson for the African National Congress

Political tolerance is the basic requirement of any democracy. You must accept the possibility that you may win or you may lose. That is the basis of political tolerance.

Zizi Kodwa, National Spokesperson for the African National Congress
