More measures to curb rhino poaching

Minister of Environmental Affairs held a media briefing yesterday and cited the Kruger Park with the growing surge of rhino poaching and there still no decision taken on the legalization of rhino horn trade.

Minister of Environmental Affairs, Edna Molewa spoke to John about the measures taken to combat rhino poaching.

Minister Molewa says that we have lost about 33 more rhino than last year this time. She adds that despite figures being bad, there has been some of measures put in place that are improving the situation.

This battle is complex and not a small one. This is a matter we are holding hands with the police on. They've begun arrests, especially of the guys who are the links with the kingpins.
